On the road to recovery!

Yesterday I was feeling tired and didn't know whether I should push myself to go swimming or to put my feet up and rest!

After sitting with my feet up for an hour I started to get Cabin Fever and decided I NEEDED to do some exercise or I would regret it for the rest of the night!

I convinced myself that I would just do a few slow lengths and see how I felt!

The few slow lengths turned into a few slow sets and before I knew it I had done 2200 metres or 1.37 miles in 53 minutes which is an average pace of 2.14 mins /100 metres!  The best bit is I felt great and really enjoyed it!  I think it helped somewhat that the pool was really quiet so I didn't have any swimmers irritating an already irritated me!

Today I went running with a new running club that has just been set up in Kendal which was advertised as a non-competitive social group for like minded people!

It was a bit of a rush for me as I was at work until after 4pm and the group were meeting at 4.45pm.  By the time I got home, ran the dog round the block and got changed into my running gear it was time to go!

There was only 3 of us who actually turned up for this first run, which I enjoyed for the social aspect and enjoyed meeting new people but it was more of a walk and talk than a run!  However, we covered 4 off road miles and then I went on and did 3.5 miles on my own! I didn't admit to the others I was going to go for a "proper" run and just pretended I was heading home!

Beginning to feel more like myself again.  Hopefully I have managed to shake off the infection!

Back to Swimming tomorrow!
