Week 2

Today saw the start of week 2 Tri Training and tonight I went swimming.

Unfortunately for me all the people in Kendal must have heard that swimming is good for you and have all decided as part of their New Years Resolution to give it a go!

Although I think they missed a vital piece of information - for it to be good for you you actually need to swim ... standing chatting and shivering won't burn very many calories!!!

The problem with Kendal Swimming pool is it is hardly ever open for a public swim!  You have an hour at 6am, an hour at 12pm and then an hour at 6pm and that's about your lot - consequently tonight's 6pm slot was HEAVING!

It was virtually impossible to swim a length without stopping, and it was so congested I couldn't even touch the pool wall at the deep end as there were so many people holding onto it chatting!

I wasn't impressed and did my lengths and drills as best I could under the circumstances and got out as soon as possible!

I somehow managed to do 1150 metres or 0.71 mile.
