Janathon Day 6 - Still Smiling!

I walked to work and back again tonight to avoid the chaos that is traffic in Kendal, I am not moaning as it's more miles in the bank for Janathon!  Things have now gone from bad to worse on the traffic front as another of the main bridges over the river has been closed due to flood damage!  The rate it is going Kendal won't be accessible by car at all very soon!

This afternoon I went with our junior children to a cross country competition.  Thankfully it was dry but very cold and the course was extremely muddy!

I felt very emotional watching all the children pushing themselves and knowing exactly how they were feeling when things didn't go quite as planned!

The determination of some of these children was amazing!

Despite not getting back from work until 6pm and feeling exhausted I was determined that I was going to go to the Tri Club swimming session.  I haven't been for a number of weeks and apart from the odd dip in the lake I have done very little swimming!

It hurt (lots) and it wasn't pretty but I survived and swam 2050 metres which is 1.27 miles!

Considering I thought my arms were going to drop off in the very early stages of the session I was amazed that I managed to dig deep and finish!

So this is it ... back to hard pool training before the season starts!

Total Janathon Running miles:  21.85
Total Janathan Walking miles:     6.56
Total Janathan Cycling miles:      Zero
Total Janathon Swimming miles:   1.45
TOTAL JANATHON MILEAGE: 29.86

My positive thoughts for the day are:

Feeling happy that I pushed through the pain barrier!
