Janathon Day 11 - Double whammy!

Women On The Run has really taken off in Kendal!

My first group of beginners who started with me in September graduated in December and now form the core of my “Improvers” group.  Unfortunately, due to the horrific floods in Kendal and the surrounding area we didn’t manage to run our target Parkrun at Fellfoot.  However, this didn’t deter us and we still ran a non-stop 5K!

We are keeping our fingers crossed that Fellfoot Parkrun will be back on very soon, and we can run our first event as a club! Two of our members have entered their first Half Marathon already!
If our members can achieve all this during the wettest few months on record imagine how far they will progress once the better weather arrives!

Then tonight we welcomed 15 new members to a new 8 week beginner’s course, as well as 3 new members to our “improvers “ group!

We now have 37 members in Kendal altogether!

So consequently tonight I ran a double session!

I met my first group at 6.30pm and we ran 3.35 miles, and then I took the beginners out and we ran 2.89 miles!

So altogether for today I have added 6.24 miles to my Janathon totals!

Total Janathon Running miles:  38.72
Total Janathan Walking miles:   12.67
Total Janathan Cycling miles:      Zero
Total Janathon Swimming miles:   1.60
TOTAL JANATHON MILEAGE: 52.99

Positive thought for today: I have really enjoyed my first 4 months as a WOTR Leader.  It is fantastic to help others to start running and a great way to meet new people.
