Last Night whilst I was at the Cycling Information evening one of the other woman from the Tri Club told me that when she was swimming she sang 10 green bottles in her head to keep her pace and rhythm steady. I laughed at this but tonight whilst swimming I decided to give it a go!
The pool was unusually quiet and for half the time I only had one man in my lane and for the last half I was on my own so I had a really enjoyable swim!
After the warm up 450 metres I remembered about 10 green bottles and started singing it for the next set! It totally took my mind off the lengths and I seemed to keep a good pace and rhythm going too!
In the end I did a total of 2050 metres or 1.27 miles made up of my 450 metres warm up followed by 4 x 400 metre sets in 47 minutes!
It felt fairly effortless - maybe singing worked magic!
